Did You Know? Obedience to God Is Love, Not Legalism
Many today claim that obedience to God’s commandments is “legalism.” Yet the Bible teaches something very different. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). True obedience is not about trying to earn salvation or prove our worth to God.
Throughout Scripture, obedience is shown as the natural response of a heart that loves and trusts its Creator. Just as a child who loves a parent desires to listen and follow their guidance, those who love God seek to walk in the ways He has given.
Obedience as the Fruit of Love
When we understand God’s character and the purpose of His law, we see that His commandments were never meant to burden us. Instead, they guide us toward truth, wisdom, and life. Obedience is not the cause of salvation, but the fruit of a transformed heart that loves the One who first loved us.
