There are many voices in the world today speaking about Jesus. Some present Him as a prophet, others as a teacher, and many as something entirely different. Yet for those who are sincerely searching for truth—especially those who have grown up hearing concerns or objections about Christianity—it can be difficult to know what is true and what is misunderstanding.
Some have seen hypocrisy among those who claim to follow Christ. Others have heard that Christians worship more than one God, or that the message of the Bible has been changed over time. These questions are real, and they deserve honest answers—not from tradition or culture, but from the Word of God itself.
📖 Jeremiah 29:13 – “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
🔎 This message is not about religion versus religion. It is about truth. It is about understanding who Jesus truly is—not through the actions of imperfect people, but through the Scriptures that reveal Him.
The Bible teaches that many who claim to follow God do not truly know Him, and that outward religion can often hide a lack of true faith. Because of this, it is important to look beyond what people say and examine what God Himself has revealed.
📖 Matthew 7:16 – “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
🔎 If you are reading this with a sincere desire to understand, then this message is for you. The invitation is simple: set aside assumptions, search the Scriptures, and consider what they say about Jesus.
💡 Truth is not found in the claims of men, but in the revelation of God—and those who seek it sincerely will find it.
Why Many Misunderstand Christianity
📖 Matthew 15:8–9 – “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
🔎 One of the greatest reasons many people misunderstand Christianity is because what they have seen does not match what the Bible teaches. Throughout history—and even today—there are many who claim to follow God, yet their lives do not reflect His truth.
Jesus Himself warned about this. He taught that there would be people who speak about God, honor Him outwardly, and even claim to represent Him, yet their hearts remain far from Him. This creates confusion for those observing from the outside.
📖 Matthew 7:21–23 – “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven… I never knew you: depart from me.”
🔎 These words are some of the most serious in the Bible. They reveal that not everyone who calls themselves a follower of Christ truly belongs to Him. This means that the actions of many who identify as “Christian” do not always represent the teachings of Jesus.
🔹 Some who claim Christianity follow tradition rather than Scripture.
🔹 Others live in ways that contradict the teachings of Christ.
🔹 Many have never truly understood or obeyed the message of the Bible.
📖 Romans 2:24 – “The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you.”
🔎 The Bible itself acknowledges that when people misrepresent God, it causes others to reject Him. This has been true throughout history. When individuals act unjustly or hypocritically while claiming to follow God, it creates a false image of who He is.
💡 The failure of people does not change the truth of God. To understand Christianity, one must look beyond human behavior and examine what the Bible actually teaches about Jesus.
Who Is Jesus According to the Bible?
📖 John 1:1,14 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”
🔎 The Bible teaches that Jesus is far more than a prophet or teacher. He is the Word of God made flesh—fully divine, yet come into the world as a man. He is not a separate god, but one with the Father in nature, purpose, and character, revealing God to humanity in a way that can be clearly seen and understood.
From the very beginning, Scripture presents Jesus as central to God’s plan. He does not act independently of God—He is in perfect unity with the Father, expressing His will, His truth, and His love.
📖 Isaiah 9:6 – “For unto us a child is born… and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God.”
🔎 This prophecy reveals that the Messiah would carry divine identity, not merely human authority. Jesus is both the Son given to the world and fully divine, sharing in the nature of God.
🔹 Jesus is the Word made flesh.
🔹 He is fully divine and reveals God’s character perfectly.
🔹 He is distinct as the Son, yet united with the Father.
📖 John 14:9 – “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father.”
🔎 When Jesus spoke these words, He was not saying that He is the Father, but that He perfectly reveals Him. His life, actions, mercy, and truth show us exactly what the Father is like. To see Christ is to understand the heart and character of God.
💡 The Bible presents Jesus not as a separate god, nor as the same person as the Father, but as the divine Son who reveals the one true God in fullness.
📖 Deuteronomy 6:4 – “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.”
🔎 The Bible is clear that there is only one true God. This truth is foundational and never changes from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The message of the Bible does not teach multiple gods, but one God who reveals Himself to humanity.
This is important, because many misunderstand Christianity as teaching more than one God. In reality, Scripture consistently affirms the oneness of God while revealing His presence and power in ways that go beyond human limitation.
📖 Colossians 1:15 – “Who is the image of the invisible God.”
🔎 Jesus is described as the image of the invisible God, meaning that through Him, we see what cannot otherwise be seen. He does not introduce a new God, but reveals the same God who spoke through the prophets.
🔹 The Bible teaches that God is one.
🔹 Jesus reveals the invisible God to humanity.
🔹 God’s nature is greater than human understanding, yet clearly revealed in Christ.
📖 1 Timothy 3:16 – “God was manifest in the flesh.”
🔎 This verse summarizes the mystery of how God made Himself known. The Bible teaches that God was revealed in human form—not to confuse, but to save and to show His character in a way humanity could grasp.
💡 The message of the Bible is not that there are many gods, but that the one true God has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ.
Why Jesus Came – Mercy, Truth, and Salvation
📖 Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
🔎 The Bible teaches that Jesus came with a clear purpose: to seek and save those who are lost. This raises an important question—lost from what? Scripture explains that humanity has been separated from God through sin. Sin is not merely outward wrongdoing, but a condition of the heart—a turning away from God’s truth and ways.
📖 Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
🔎 The Bible does not single out one group of people as needing salvation—all humanity stands in need of forgiveness and restoration. This includes every nation, every culture, and every individual.
🔹 Sin separates humanity from God.
🔹 No person is without need of forgiveness.
🔹 God’s message is for all people, not one group alone.
📖 Ezekiel 18:23 – “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”
🔎 God’s desire is not to punish, but to restore. Throughout the Bible, He calls people to turn from sin and return to Him. His justice is real, but so is His mercy. This is where Jesus becomes central. The Bible teaches that through Christ, God made a way for forgiveness—not by ignoring sin, but by providing a path to be cleansed from it.
📖 John 3:16–17 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son… For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
🔎 God’s love is not limited to one people or nation—it extends to the entire world. Jesus came not to condemn, but to save, offering forgiveness and a new life to those who believe and follow Him.
💡 Jesus came to restore what was broken—to bring humanity back into relationship with God through truth, mercy, and transformation.
A Personal Invitation to Seek Truth
📖 Matthew 7:7 – “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”
🔎 The Bible invites every person to seek truth personally. Faith is not something that can be inherited or assumed—it must be discovered through a sincere search for God.
This means looking beyond what others say and examining the Scriptures for yourself. It means asking honest questions and being willing to follow the truth wherever it leads.
🔹 God invites every person to seek Him personally.
🔹 Truth is found through sincere searching, not blind acceptance.
🔹 The invitation to know God is open to all.
📖 Acts 17:27 – “That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us.”
🔎 God is not distant or unreachable. He is near to those who seek Him sincerely. The search for truth is not in vain—those who truly desire to know God will find Him.
💡 The journey toward truth begins with a willing heart—one that is open to seeking, questioning, and discovering what God has revealed.
The Holy Spirit – God’s Presence Working in the Heart
📖 John 14:16–17 – “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter… even the Spirit of truth… for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
🔎 The Bible teaches that God does not remain distant from humanity. Through His Spirit, He works in the hearts of people—guiding, convicting, and leading them into truth. The Holy Spirit is not merely a force, but the personal presence of God working within us.
Jesus spoke of the Spirit as “another Comforter,” showing that just as He walked with His disciples, the Spirit would continue that work—teaching, helping, and strengthening those who seek God.
📖 John 16:13 – “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”
🔎 The Spirit leads people to understand truth, not through pressure or force, but through conviction and revelation. He helps us see what is right, understand God’s Word, and respond to Him sincerely.
🔹 The Holy Spirit works in the heart to reveal truth.
🔹 He brings conviction, guidance, and understanding.
🔹 He continues God’s work in the lives of those who seek Him.
📖 Romans 8:14 – “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
🔎 Those who follow God are not left alone—the Spirit leads them, shaping their lives and drawing them closer to Him. This shows that knowing God is not just about knowledge, but about transformation.
💡 The Bible reveals one God, who works through the Father, is revealed in the Son, and continues His work in us through the Holy Spirit—drawing us into truth and restoring us to Himself.
Final Reflection – A Call to Know the Truth
📖 John 8:31–32 – “If ye continue in my word… ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
🔎 The message of Jesus is not about winning arguments or defending traditions. It is about truth—truth that sets people free from confusion, fear, and misunderstanding. In a world filled with many voices and conflicting claims, the Bible calls each person to return to the source and seek what God has revealed.
📌 Am I willing to seek truth with an open and sincere heart?
📌 Have I examined what the Bible actually says about Jesus?
📌 Am I searching for truth, or simply accepting what I have always been told?
💡 Truth is not found in human opinion, but in what God has revealed—and those who seek it sincerely will find it.
📖 Revelation 3:20 – “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock…”
✝️ The invitation is open to all—those who seek truth will find it in Jesus Christ.
