Did You Know? Studying God’s Word Could Have Prevented This

Many of the false practices seen today did not begin with open rebellion—but with a slow drift away from God’s Word. When Scripture is no longer the foundation, people begin to rely on tradition, culture, and human reasoning to define truth. Over time, what once may have seemed small becomes a complete departure from true worship.

God has always warned His people about this pattern. When His Word is neglected, deception quietly takes its place—not always obvious at first, but powerful enough to reshape beliefs, practices, and even entire systems of worship.

From Neglect to False Worship

Throughout Scripture, the fall into idolatry often followed the same path: God’s people stopped listening, stopped studying, and stopped testing what they were taught. As a result, they began adopting practices that God had never commanded.

📖 Deuteronomy 12:32“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”

📖 Hosea 4:6“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”

When truth is not actively sought, error fills the void. Even sincere people can be led into false worship if they are not grounded in the Word of God. This is why Scripture calls us not just to believe—but to study, test, and discern. True worship is not based on what feels right or what has been passed down, but on what God has clearly spoken. The call remains the same today: return to the Word, measure everything by it, and let God—not tradition—define how He is to be worshiped.
