The Bible Book of Genesis
Genesis is derived from the Greek Genesis, which means “beginning,” and is itself derived from the Hebrew bere’shit, “in the beginning”.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. – John 1:1-4
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. – John 1:14
God’s original plan for mankind can be seen in the garden of Eden and most likely is also a peek into the future new earth after the millennial 1000 years (Heavenly Sabbath) with a restoration of God’s original plan and this time with sin having been destroyed forever.
The Law of God can be seen right from chapter one with a six-day creation period followed by a seventh-day rest. Also interesting is although Eden would be at an ideal temperature for man, after the fall we see in Gen 3:21 that animal skins were used to clothe them. It would appear the animals were the first sacrifice for sin and Adam and Eve were made to wear the skins to instill in the the absolute death and tragedy that sin brings.
